Refund policy
Our goal is to ensure your complete satisfaction with every purchase from The Spice and Tea Shoppe. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to resolve any issues promptly and effectively.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND RETURN POLICY
- We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
- To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
- Only non-food items, e.g. teapots, salt, and pepper mills, etc. may be returned for an exchange within 30 days and must include the original receipt and original product packaging.
- Items must be in unused, original condition for a refund.
- Store credit may be issued in lieu of a refund under certain circumstances and is at the discretion of the retail or warehouse manager.
- You may be directed to contact the manufacturer directly for certain items outside the 30-day window which have an extended warranty program.
EXCEPTIONS/ NON-RETURNABLE GOODS
- Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods. All sales are final, and no returns of food items will be accepted regardless of if they have been opened or not.
- Gift sets which include spices, herbs, seasonings, teas, and other gourmet food or consumable items are considered food and are not eligible for an exchange or refund.
- Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable.
RETURNS/ REFUND PROCESS FOR DEFECTIVE ITEMS
- Eligibility for Refund: To be eligible for a refund, the defective item must be reported within 30 days of receiving your order.
- Contact our customer service team at orders@salty-savory-sweet.com to report the defective item and initiate the refund process.
- Be sure to include your order ID, name, address, email, and phone number so that we can efficiently find your information.
- Provide detailed information about the defect, including any relevant photos or documentation, to expedite the resolution process.
- Our customer service team will review your case and determine the appropriate course of action, which may include returning the item to us, issuing a refund, providing a replacement item, or offering store credit.
- If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package.
- Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
- We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not.
- In some cases, we may provide a prepaid return shipping label for the defective item.
- If return shipping is required, please follow the instructions provided by our customer service team to ensure a smooth return process.
- If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 14 business days.
- Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Defective Item Definition: A defective item is defined as a product that does not meet our quality standards or does not perform as intended due to defects in manufacturing. This does not include damage from shipping which requires contacting the shipper for compensation for damages resulting from common carriers.
EXCHANGES
- The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, we will issue an account credit and you can make a separate purchase for the new item.
EXCLUSIONS
- This refund policy applies only to defective items and does not cover products that have been damaged due to misuse, neglect, or improper storage.
- We reserve the right to refuse refunds for items that do not meet the eligibility criteria outlined in this policy.

EUROPEAN UNION 14 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
